According to the display principle of the plasma TV, when the television is in operation, a single pixel can only be in a "bright" or "off" state. When a plasma TV displays an image, a picture with uneven brightness is not completed at one time, but the brightness is adjusted by increasing the number of blinks.

In the case of NTSC programs, 60 pictures are displayed per second. If each picture is displayed only once like other TVs, the plasma TV will not be able to express the brightness. Plasma TVs decompose each picture into eight sub-images, also called sub-fields. That is to say, in a short period of 1/60 seconds, 8 subfield images are displayed to achieve 256 levels of light and dark changes.

Since it is a PAL system, the TV program itself is 50 Hz, and the TV programs are displayed at a speed of 50 frames per second. The television performs eight subfield discharges on the received signal in 0.02 seconds, that is, 400 subfield discharges are performed in one second. The 600Hz subfield drive, for 50Hz signals, with up to 12 subfield scans per scan, can achieve up to 600 scans per second. 550 Hz is a subfield scan of 11 times for each image.

In actual use, if you only use to watch TV programs, the 550Hz sub-field driven S10 is enough for you to use. If used to watch high-definition movies, the G10's 600Hz subfield driver will work better. This is the difference between the 550Hz and 600Hz subfield drivers.
