6-channel integrated video filter FMS6646 supports 1080p (Fairchild Semiconductor)

Fairchild Semiconductor offers the industry's first 6-channel integrated video filter with 1080p HD capability for HD (HD) LCD TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and HD set-top box designers. The new device is capable of supporting three 1080p HD channels filtered at 75MHz and three standard definition (SD) channels filtered at 8MHz. This 6-channel video filter also provides very robust 9kV ESD protection to protect the device from damage due to static discharge and eliminates the need for discrete protection devices. The FMS6646 is integrated, eliminating the need for numerous discrete filter components and ESD protection diodes, reducing board space and complexity. Compared to discrete implementations, the FMS6646 allows AC or DC coupling of inputs and outputs, reducing up to 12 components and saving approximately 10% board space.
