Japan’s current affairs news agency and the Korean Central Daily’s Japanese version reported on the 19th that South Korea’s LED factory Seoul Semiconductor will offer “patent wars†to global lighting and television manufacturers, and it has already been used in China, the United States and Europe. The company issued an infringement warning.
In the three months since September, Seoul Semiconductor visited 29 companies that were infringed by Seoul Semiconductor to explain the infringement issues and strongly urged these companies to respect intellectual property rights.
Infringement warnings issued by Seoul Semiconductor include four Taiwanese manufacturers including AOT and 15 mainland Chinese manufacturers such as Skywotth, six US companies such as Feit and three European manufacturers including Ledvance.
Among them, in the part of Taiwan's Rongchuang, according to Seoul Semiconductor, Rongchuang was infringed by the Taiwanese and Korean courts in 2006, but Rongchuang only changed the part model and continued to sell infringing goods.
In the IT industry, Seoul Semiconductor is known for its ultra-hard patents. In 2006, Seoul Semiconductor and global LED giant Japan Nissan launched a patent lawsuit. After three years of fighting, the two parties signed a mutual authorization contract.
