Recently, CPT, AUO and Innolux have successively released May revenue announcements. Similar to the revenue in April, the revenue of the three panel manufacturers continued to decline year-on-year in May.

It is understood that AUO's unaudited consolidated revenue in May reached NT $ 25.74 billion, an increase of 5.2% from the previous month and a decrease of 8.3% from the previous year. Innolux revenue in May was NT $ 22 billion, an increase of 11.7% month-on-month, but a year-on-year decrease of 21.7%. CPT ’s consolidated revenue in May was NT $ 2.308 billion, up 4.9% month-on-month, but down 3.9% year-on-year.

Generally speaking, the first quarter is the off-season of the panel market, and the revenue of panel manufacturers is not good. However, due to the impact of new product releases from display terminal manufacturers in the second quarter, the demand for panels has rebounded. Revenues from China Picture Tube, AUO and Innolux all increased month-on-month.

However, LCD panel prices fell in the second quarter. In particular, the prices of large-size LCD panels have continued to decline, and some have reached the cost price. Although both Innolux and AUO's shipments of large-size panels in May showed year-on-year growth, they did not bring a significant increase in revenue.

Unlike the large-size panel market, the shipments of CPT and AU Optronics' small and medium-sized panels declined in May.

The weak innovation of mobile phone manufacturers cannot stimulate the replacement market, and the growth of the mobile phone market has slowed down. Mobile phone manufacturers are more inclined to those display screens that can bring selling points to mobile phones, such as full-screen, under-screen fingerprint recognition, notched screen, etc. The small and medium-sized panels of the Taiwanese panel factory in China are accelerating the upgrade to full-screen, increasing the production capacity of 18: 9 LCD panels. According to sources, the unit shipments of all panel sizes declined in May. With the average selling price of small-sized mobile phone panels stable and the high-priced 18: 9 full-screen shipments increasing, CPT ’s overall revenue will There is growth.

The display terminal market is sluggish. Panel manufacturers hope to provide promotional space for downstream display terminal manufacturers at a low price to stimulate the growth of market demand.
