• Travel distance: This is the distance the switch travels from its resting position to its actuated position. Shorter travel distances can result in faster typing speeds, but may also be less comfortable for extended periods of use.
• Tactility: This refers to the tactile feedback provided by a switch, or the sensation of the switch "bouncing back" when it is pressed. Switches with a more pronounced tactile bump may be more satisfying to type on, but may also require more effort to press.
• Noise level: Some switches are louder than others when they are pressed, which may be a consideration if you plan to use your keyboard in a shared space or want a more subtle typing sound. If you want a totally silent switch, use a silenced stem such as Gecko silent switches from Gateron.
