Linear Technology Corporation (Linear Technology Corporation) Release mode current, fixed frequency step-up DC / DC converter LT8570 and LT8570-1. The LT8570 uses an internal 500mA, 65V switch, while the LT8570-1 uses a 250mA, 65V switch. Both devices operate from an input voltage range of 2.55V to 40V, making them ideal for a wide range of input source applications from single-cell Li-Ion to automotive inputs. Both the LT8570 and LT8570-1 can be configured as step-up, SEPIC or negative output converters. The smaller LT8570-1 switch allows smaller inductors to be used in smaller current applications. Both devices offer programmable switching frequencies from 200kHz to 1.5MHz, allowing designers to minimize external component sizes. The combination of a 3mm x 3mm DFN package (or MSOP-8E package) and tiny external components ensures a very compact solution footprint while minimizing solution cost.

The LT8570 and LT8570-1 feature an internal high efficiency switch that delivers efficiencies as high as 86%. Undervoltage lockout (UVLO) is user adjustable for optimal system performance. The output voltage can be set with a single feedback resistor to minimize external components. Other features include external synchronization capability, internal soft-start, thermal shutdown protection, and the ability to operate in both negative output and SEPIC applications.

The LT8570 / LT8570-1 are available in a 3mm x 3mm DFN-8 and thermally enhanced MSOP-8 package. Available in two temperature grade versions, both extended and industrial temperature grade versions operate from –40°C to 125°C (junction temperature).
