The MP3302 is a converter IC specifically designed for boost LED driver applications. The MP3302 can drive 27 LEDs (9 3 white LEDs in series) from a Li-Ion battery. The IC has an internal power MOSFET to drive the LED and is 88% efficient. The switching frequency is 1.3MHz and the internal current limit is 1.33A. Other functions of the MP3302 are the closed open circuit load, the thermal shutdown undervoltage lockout for the Mp3302 and other applications, the LED backlight, the LED lighting gadgets, etc. The MP3302 functional block diagram is shown below.
