Molex recently announced the expansion of its heavy-duty connector product line after the acquisition of the GWconnect® product line from Italian industrial connector manufacturer Westec Srl. The GWconnect heavy-duty connector provides excellent mechanical strength and vibration resistance for power, control and signal circuits. Molex 's GWconnect connectors are made of die-cast aluminum alloy with a polyester powder coating and are available in a variety of housing materials and mounting options. Inserts made of UL 94V-0 thermoplastic material for automatic fire suppression provide screw terminals, screw terminals with terminal blocks, spring terminals, crimp terminals and plug-in terminal options. Special gaskets protect the insert from dust, moisture and chemicals. The pin processing contacts are made of hard silver or gold-plated copper to ensure high reliability and performance. A full range of stamped crimp terminal products in reel packaging is also available for automated crimping applications. The sealed GWconnect solution features a brake lock system that is well tolerated and prevents accidental pull-out.
