Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced that it has expanded its TANTAMOUNT® low-ESR TR3 and standard industrial grade 293D series of solid surface mount chip capacitors to increase the voltage of B, C, D, E, V and W form factor devices to 75V. The Vishay Sprague is the industry's first 75V molded tantalum capacitor designed to meet the 50% rated voltage drop in +28V and +35V applications. The device is a cheaper alternative for decoupling in 75V applications, +28V power supplies and +35V DC/DC conversion for sensor, industrial control and aerospace applications, as well as communication base stations. The TR3 series can carry a high ripple current of 2.50A. The 293D and TR3 capacitors are available in six and seven molded form factors, and are available in standard RoHS-compliant 100% tin terminals. Sn/Pb tin/lead alloy terminals are available upon request. Devices with C, D, and E outline codes were tested for 100% surge current. The device introduced recently belongs to Vishay 's TANTAMOUNT tantalum capacitor, which has a voltage of 4V to 75V in the temperature range of -55°C to +85°C and a temperature of +125°C in the case of voltage derating. Capacitors meet the new EIA-717 international certification specifications, as well as EIA 535BAAC and IEC QC300801/US0001, with a moisture sensitivity rating of 1, which can be mounted using high-speed pick-and-place equipment to simplify assembly.
