First, with the advantage of Chinese chip manufacturers in the R&D and production of NB-IoT chips, NB-IoT devices will effectively promote the development of the Internet of Things industry.

It is expected that 60% of cellular IoT devices in the future will use wide-area, low-power IoT connection technologies. The NB-IoT connection technology is currently the representative of related connection technologies. At present, with the early involvement in the development of NB-IoT standards, Huawei and ZTE have acquired the innate advantages of NB-IoT chip R&D. Among them, Huawei first mass-produced the NB-IoT chip in March. In the future, it is assumed that Chinese companies such as Huawei, ZTE, and Zoomlion will occupy 65% ​​of the NB-IoT chip market.

The second is that the NB-IoT chip foundry will bring opportunities for Chinese chip manufacturing companies. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out in June that the total number of NB-IoT connections in 2020 was not less than 600 million. At present, the NB-IoT chip manufacturing process is distributed at 28nm, 40nm, and 55nm, which is in line with Chinese manufacturers' foundry capabilities. Due to the research and development advantages of Chinese chip manufacturers, the future NB-IoT chip foundry can bring larger orders for Chinese foundries.
