PTC and Unity will cooperate to improve AR application performance

Recently, American parametric technology company PTC and Unity Technologies announced that they will work together to integrate the Vuforia AR platform into Unity to create a seamless development environment for AR developers.

More than 80% of the more than 30,000 applications currently released in Vuforia are developed using the Unity platform, the vast majority of which are used in games, businesses and consumers.

The integrated development tools are expected to be released in the spring of 2017, which will greatly enhance the performance of augmented reality games and applications, while PTC and Unity will also work together to optimize the process of camera capture and rendering for more realistic augmented reality. In other words, the AR app on your phone will run more smoothly and the effect will be more realistic.

Vuforia now supports most AR applications in the App Store and Google Play. With advanced computer vision technology, the Vuforia AR platform presents digital content in real-world environments, providing easy-to-use workflows, software development kits (SDKs) and cloud services for mainstream development tools such as Unity.

Jay Wright, president of PTCVuforia, made an analogy: "Your canvas is no longer a rectangular screen, but the real world. We are very excited to work with Unity to make this canvas easier to control.
