Sweden develops fully automatic tree planting robot

Sweden is one of the countries with the highest degree of mechanization of the forest industry in the world. At present, all forest felling, processing and transportation are all automated, but planting trees has always relied on manpower. Although there are many tree planting machines, they are not efficient and inconvenient to operate, so planting trees is still a big problem in the Swedish forest industry. To this end, the industrialist Anna-Karin Bergkvist from UmeUniversity University in Sweden has boldly created a four-legged, all-terrain tree-planting robot . The tree planting robot can load 320 seedlings at a time and completely water the trees.

In terms of environmental protection, the tree planting robot uses forest waste as fuel to drive its steam engine, eliminating gas pollution; and it uses a four-legged design to protect the woodland. The robot is about 2 meters high for transportation and forest work. With GPS and laser sensors, it can autonomously plant trees on rugged woodlands.

The design is a master's degree in Anna-Karin Berqkvist, and the design also won the "Guldmyran2010" Golden Ant Award (GoldenAntAward).

Sweden is one of the countries with the widest forest cover in Europe, with a forest coverage of 66%, equivalent to 21 million hectares of timber. In order to maintain the sustainability of the ecology and forest industry, the Swedish government has enacted laws requiring that two trees be planted for each tree.
