The HTB28 Series offers high reliability through a conservative and rigorous design approach, while the hermetic-packed thick-film circuit technology is also highly compact with a width of 1 inch, a length of 3.82 inches (including flanges) and a height of 0.41 inches. The package footprint is approximately 20% smaller than board-based products. Thanks to its small width, the HTB28 series can be installed in the smallest downhole drilling tools on the market or under development.

This 5 W, 28 V input isolated DC-DC power supply achieves at least 69% output efficiency up to 185 oC with built-in input and output filters, low input quiescent current and overcurrent protection. Most downhole equipment requires no more than 1000 hours of service life at 185 oC. The HTB28 series has a service life of up to 1200 hours, exceeding the maximum requirements.

In addition, IR HiRel uses screened and certified components that operate at high temperatures and is designed around it to maintain excellent performance over the entire operating temperature range.
