U.S. technology website VentureBeat confirmed yesterday by "information sources" that there will be at least one Samsung Galaxy Tab Tablet PC that will use the Intel Atom chip. Currently Samsung and Intel have not publicly commented on this news.

Samsung's cooperation with Intel's mobile chips is not limited to tablet computers. Samsung smartphones equipped with Intel's mobile chips are also being planned, and even Samsung's star product line, the Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series.

For Intel, even if only one Samsung Android tablet carries its Atom chip, this will be a significant milestone for the chip maker in the mobile space.

Five years ago, Intel developed the Atom series chips, which were initially used only for low-end PC products such as netbooks. Last year, Intel successfully brought the Atom chip into the mobile market, thus winning the “proof” campaign.

Prior to this, ARM camp's manufacturers have been sacrificing this PC chip giant, thinking that its chip power consumption is high, and it can't be applied to mobile terminals such as tablet PCs and smart phones at all.
